AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING ORDINANCE 79-33 TO EXEMPT EXISTING
DWELLING UNITS FROH TIlE PARK DEDICATION
REQUIREMENT.
WHEREAS, on November 19, 1979, the Winslow City Council
adopted Ordinance 79-33 requiring developers to dedicate land,
pay a fee in lieu of dedication of land, or both, for the
purpose of providing public parks and recreational facilities;
and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 79-33 provides that the amount of land
to be dedicated or fee to be paid shall depend on the number of
dwelling units included in the developer's proposal; and
WHEREAS, it was the intent of the City Council that this
requirement apply to the development of new dwelling units, and
not to dwelling units existing at the time Ordinance 79-33
became effective;
NOW THEREFORE the City Council of the City of Winslow,
Washington, do ordain as follows:
Section I. Section II of Ordinance 79-33 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
Section II. Standards and Formula for Dedication of
Land
Based on the criteria of need for five (5) acres for
each one thousand (1,000) people residing within the
City of Winslow, and the average occupancy rate of
three (3) persons per dwelling unit, the amount of

land required for dedication shall be .015 acres per
dwelling unit. In those instances where the applicant
can demonstrate an occupancy rate of two (2) or fewer
persons per dwelling unit, the amount of land required
for dedication shall be .010 acres per dwelling unit.
Dwelling units existing on the effective date of
Ordinance 79-33 shall not be included in the
computation of the amount of land required for
dedication.
Section II. Effective date. This Ordinance shall become
effective five (5) days after publication or posting as required
by law.
