AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW AMENDING ORDINANCE
74-16 AS AMENDED, PAYMENT FOR WATER AND SEWtR SERVICE
AND SE'ITING TEMPORARY PENALTY AND BIT,LING SC[tEDULES.
WHEREAS, the water and sewer billings for the nonths of March and April
were delayed, and
WHEREAS, in the future the City desires to assess a penalty on delinquent
charges beginning h~enty days from the billing date rather than the
twentieth of the FDnth,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Winslow do Ordain as follows:
Section 1: That section D. 3 of Ordinance 74-16 is amended to read as follows:
3. Payment for Water and Sewer Service
~bnthly water and/or sewer service accounts shall be billed on the
1st day of the nonth succeeding the nonth in which such service is
furnished. Bi-monthly water and/or sewer service accounts shall be
billed on the 1st day of the month succeeding the second month in
which such service is furnished.
All charges for sewer and/or water service shall be due and payable
during the twenty-day period succeeding the date of the billing.
If the whole or any portion of the water and/or sewer charge remains
unpaid after the twenty-day period during which such charges are due
and payable the account shall thereucon become delinquent. All
delinquent water and/or sewer accounts shall be subject to a monthly
penalty charge of 10% of the amount that is delinquent.
Section 2: The 10% per month penalty for the months of March and April, 1982,
shall be charged on accounts delinquent after the 30th day of the month.
Section 3: Those accounts last billed bi-nDnthly on March 1, 1982, will be
billed a bi-monthly billing for the consumption months of February 16 through
April 15, on June 1, 1982 and for the consurmption months of April 16 through
June 15, on July 1, 1982.
Those accounts last billed monthly on April 1, 1982 will be
billed a monthly billing for the consolation nonth of March 16 through April 15,
on June 1, 1982 and for the comsumption month of ,April 16 through May 15, on
June 1, 1982.
