ORDINANCE NO. 84-2g
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON AMENDING
SECTION 13.16.070(A) OF THE WINSLOW MUNICIPAL CODE TO
ALLOW FOR MONTHLY BILLING OF ALL WATER AND/OR SEWER
ACCOUNTS.
WHEREAS, the City currently bills residential water/sewer
customers every other month based upon readings taken every other
month, and
WHEREAS, commerical customers are billed every month based
upon readings taken every month, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined to treat all classes
of customers the same with regard to billings, and
WHEREAS, the City will, therefore, read all customer's meters
every other month but bill every month, and
WHEREAS, the bill for the alternate month will be an estimate
based upon the average of certain winter months, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 13.16.020(A) of the Winslow Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
(A) Water and/or sewer service accounts shall
be billed monthly on or about the first
day of the month succeeding the month in which
such service is furnished. Water meters
shall be read every other month. Water/
sewer billings sent in the month following
a meter reading shall be based upon that
reading. The billings for the alternate
months shall be based upon the average
water consumption for the particular unit
from readings taken December through May.
Appropriate adjustments to the bill shall
be made on the basis of the actual readings
made every other month.
Section 2. Nothing herein shall be deemed to affect the
averaging of sewer rates set forth in Ordinance 84-25.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
on January 1, 1985 and five (5) days after passage and publication
as provided by law.
