ORDINANCE NO. 86-10
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON,
INITIATING ANNEXATION OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW TO
KITSAP COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT NO.
FINDING THE PUBLIC INTEREST BEST SERVED THEREBY;
DECLARING AN INTENT TO JOIN KITSAP COUNTY FIRE
PROTECTION DISTRICT NO. 2 AND ESTABLISHING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, RCW 52.04.061 allows a City with a population
of 10,000 people or less lying contiguous to a fire district to
be annexed to such district, and
WHEREAS, the City of Winslow, Washington, does lie
contiguous to Kitsap County Fire Protection District No. 2, and
WHEREAS, the City of Winslow has a population of 10,000
people or less, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Winslow does
find that the public interest would be best served by jolning
with Kitsap County Fire Protection Dlstrict No. 2, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Winslow does
lntend to join Kitsap County Fire Protection District No. 2 to
provide fire prevention services, fire suppression services and
servlces for the protection of llfe and property, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The public interest of the City of Winslow
will be served by joining Kitsap County Fire Protection District
No. 2 for providing fire prevention services, fire suppression
services, emergency medical services and services for the
protection of life and property.
Sectlon 2. The City Councll of the City of Winslow,
Washington, hereby initiates the annexation of the City of
Winslow to Kitsap County Fire Protection District No. 2 and
expresses its lntent to join the same for providing fire
protection services to the City of Winslow and Kitsap County Fire
Protection District No. 2.
Section 5. This ordinance or a summary thereof
consisting of the title shall be published in the official
newspaper of the City, and shall take effect and be in full force
flve (5) days after the date of publication. The City Clerk is
directed to send a certified copy of this ordinance to the Kltsap
County Fire Protection District No. 2 Board of Commissioners for
their concurrence.
