ORD 87-04 REWARD FOR INFORMATIONORDINANCE NO. 87-04
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 85-08 PERTAINING TO OFFERING
A REWARD FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO A CONVICTION OF
VIOLATIONS OF CITY ORDINANCES CONCERNING MALICIOUS
PROPERTY DAMAGE.
WHEREAS, the City of Winslow desires to provide for
rewards for information leading to the conviction of a person
for knowingly and maliciously damaging property within the
City of Winslow,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Winslow,
Washington do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That Ordinance 85-08 be amended to add a
section as follows:
Section 9.40.060
The City Council is authorized to offer a reward
of not to exceed $1,000.00 for information
resulting in the arrest and conviction of any
person knowingly and maliciously causing physical
damage to any public property within the City.
Recommendations for payment of such rewards
including recommendations as to the amounts
to be paid and the person or persons to whom payment
should be made, shall be made by the Police Chief
to the Mayor and City Council, and when approved by
the Mayor and City Council, shall be paid from
budgeted funds available for such purpose.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective five
(5) days after its posting or publication in the manner
provided by law.
