ORD 87-07 CARPOOL REQUIREMENTSORDINANCE 87-07
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON AMENDING
SECTION 1, F.4 OF ORDINANCE 82-12 AND SECTION 10.08.070 OF
THE WINSLOW MUNICIPAL CODE, PERTAINING TO CARPOOL
REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES WHEN LESS THAN THREE PEOPLE ARE
IN THE CAR UPON ARRIVAL AT THE ASSIGNED CARPOOL SPACE.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Winslow wishes to improve
the enforceability of the carpool rules and regulations.
WHEREAS, the current rule requires the carpooler to use a
non-carpool space if the car arrives at the assigned space
with less than three people;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Winslow,
Washington, do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That Section 1, f.4 of ordinance 82-12 and
section 10.08.080 of the Winslow Municipal Code be amended to
read as follows:
f. In areas designated "Restricted Carpool," no vehicle
shall be parked before 9:00 a.m. on Monday through Friday,
unless:
1. A valid carpool permit issued by the City of Winslow
is displayed on the inside lower left-hand corner of
the windshield in such a manner that the carpool
permit number is visible from the outside of the
vehicle;
2. The car is parked in the space assigned to the
carpool permit, and;
3. Three or more individuals are in the car it is
parked in the assigned space.
If the carpool is reduced to less than three people,
the authorized vehicle will be allowed to park in
the assigned carpool space. However, the daily
parking fee for non-carpool spaces must be paid.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective five (5)
days after its posting or publication in the manner provided
by law.
