ORD 87-11 EXISTING PARK COMMISSIONERSORDINANCE NO. 87-~1
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW REPEALING
THE PRESENT TERMS AND DUTIES OF THE EXISTING
CITY BOARD OF PARK COMMISSIONERS, AND TO PRO-
VIDE FOR NEW DUTIES FOR SUCH COMMISSION AND
THE APPOINTMENT OF NEW MEMBERS.
The City Council of the City of Winslow does ordain
as follows:
Section 1. Winslow Ordinance No. 78-21, to the extent
effected herein, and Winslow Municipal Code Sections 2.32.020
through 2.32.060 are hereby repealed.
Section 2. The terms of all of the present members
of the existing Board of Park Commissioners are ended within
ninety (90) days of the effective date of this ordinance.
Section 3. There is hereby added to the Winslow
Municipal Code the following new sections as designated:
Section 2.32,020. Composition - Appointments -
Responsibilities.
The Mayor shall appoint not more than five park
commissioners for the City of Winslow with the approval of
the majority of all members of city council, who shall serve
at the pleasure of the Mayor and who shall have the duty from
time to time to provide recommendations to the city for the
Park Comprehensive Plan.
Section 2.32.030. Powers and Duties.
The park commissioners shall meet for the sole purpose
of making recommendations to the city for the Park Comprehensive
Plan, or revisions thereto. They shall make 'their recommend-
ations in written form within six months of a notice to proceed
given by the Mayor, to which time their terms of office shall
expire, unless the Mayor approves and grants an extension of
time within which they shall complete their recommendations
before such terms expire.
Section 2.32.040. Additional Duties.
The Mayor may grant such additional duties and
responsibilities to the park commissioners as from time
to time are deemed appropriate or necessary, for such time
periods and terms of office as may be prescribed.
Section 2.32.050. Conduct of Meetings.
'the park commisison shall publish a meeting agenda
in writing of specific topics, one week in advance of all
meetings. Written minutes of all meetings shall be kept,
and distributed within two weeks following each meeting
before any further meetings may be held.
Section 4. This ordinance title or a summary thereof
shall be published in the official newspaper of the city and
shall take effect and be in full force five days after
publication.
