ORD 87-27 SOLID FUEL BURNING APPLIANCESORDINANCE NO. 87-27 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON, AMENDING CHAPTER 15.04 OF THE WINSLOW MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADOPT THE STANDARDS FOR THE INSTALLATION AND CARE OF SOLID FUEL BURNING APPLIANCES, 1984 EDITION, AND TO ESTABLISH A WOODBURNING PERMIT FEE; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that installation and operation of woodburning stoves and other solid fuel burning appliances should be governed by the Uniform Standards published by the Washington Association of Building Officials, and that adoption of such standards will enhance the enforcement and administration of the City's regulations governing solid fuel burning appliances, now, therefore THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 15.04,020 entitled "Uniform codes -- Adopted by reference" is hereby amended by adding a new Subsection "J" to read as follows: J. The Standards for Installation and Care of Solid Fuel Burning Appliances (1984 Edition), published by the Washington Association of Building Officials. Section 2. A new Section 15.04,100 is hereby added to the Winslow Municipal Code to read as follows: 15.04,100 Fee Schedule -- Installation of Solid Fuel Burning Appliances. The fee for processing and issuance of a permit for a wood stove or other solid fuel burning appliance shall be five dollars. Section 3. The City Clerk is directed to keep on file in the Office of the City Clerk, and available for public inspection, at least one copy of the Standards for the Installation and Care of Solid Fuel Burning Appliances adopted by reference by this ordinance. Section 4. This ordinance shall be published in the official newspaper of the City, and shall take effect and be in full force five (5) days after date of publication. APPROVED: MAYOR, ALICE B.
