ORD 88-17 PAYMENT OF CLAIMSORDINANCE NO. 88-17
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW ADOPTING A POLICY FOR
THE PAYMENT OF CLAIMS OR OTHER OBLIGATIONS OF THE CITY AS
A~i~ORIZED UNDER AUTHORITY GRANTED BY RCW 35A.40.020.
WHEREAS RCW35A.40,020, grants authority for a code city to elect
to use checks when funds are solvent; and
WHERFAS, RCW35A.40,020, provides for audit and allowance of demands
against the city,
NOW,IMEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Winslow, Washington,
do ordain as follows:
Section 1. A policy is adopted for the payment of claims or other
obligations of the city, which are payable out of solvent funds, by check:
Provided, that no check shall be issued when '~he applicable fund is not
solvent at the time payment is ordered, but a warrant shall be issued
therefore.
Section 2. The public depository whereon such checks are to be
drawn is American Marine Bank.
Section 3. The officers authorized or required to sign such checks
shall be the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Clerk/Treasurer and the respective deputies,
I~o signatures are required.
Section 4. 1his ordinance shall be in full force and effect five
(5) days after passage and publication as provided by law.
