ORD 89-37 ZONING OF PARK & RECREATIONAL AREASROC:sk REVISED: REVISED: REVISED: REVISED: 8/11/89 8/17/89 8/25/87 9/14/89 ORDINANCE NO. 89-37 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE WINSLOWMUNICIPAL CODE, TITLE 18, ENTITLED ZONING AND REVISING THE TITLE OF THE SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONES IN THE ZONING ORDINANCE AND ON THE ZONING MAP; ADDING PUBLIC PARKS AND PLAYGROUNDS AS A CONDITIONAL USE IN ALL SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONES AND AS A PERMITTED USE IN ALL ~fOLTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONES; AND REVISING THE WORDING IN ALL OTHER ZONES FROM PUBLIC OR COMMUNITY PARK AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES TO PUBLIC PARKS AND PLAYGROUNDS. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Winslow, Washington, has determined that the Zoning Code should be amended; and WHEREAS, the Planning Agency conducted the requisite public hearing on the 26th day of January, 1989; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Winslow, Washington, finds that the policies outlined in the Land Use subsection of the Comprehensive Plan require the updating of the Zoning Code; now, therefore THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 18.20 entitled High Density Multifamily Residential Zone, Section 18.20.020 entitled Permitted Uses, is hereby amended to change the term for the permitted use from G. Community or public park and recreation facilities to: G. Public parks and playgrounds; Section 2. Chapter 18.24 entitled Medium Density Multifamily Residential Zone, Section 18.24.020, Permitted Uses is hereby amended to change the term for the permitted use from F. Community or public park and recreation facilities to: F. Public parks and playground; Section 3. Chapter 18.28 of the Winslow Municipal Code shall be revised to change the name of the HIGH DENSITY SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONE to HIGH DENSITY (10,000 SQUARE FEET) SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONE throughout said chapter and on the official zoning map. -1- Section 4. Section 18.28.030 entitled Conditional Uses, is hereby amended to add a new conditional use: E. Public parks and playgrounds. Section 5. Chapter 18.32 of the Winslow Municipal Code is hereby amended to change the name of the zone from MEDIUM DENSITY SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONE TO MEDIUM DENSITY (12,500 SQUARE FEET) SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONE throughout said chapter and on the official zoning map. Section 6. Section 18.32.030 entitled Conditional Uses, is hereby amended to add a new conditional use: E. Public parks and playgrounds. Section 7. Chapter 18.36 of the Winslow Municipal Code is hereby amended to change the name of the zone from LOW DENSITY SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONE to LOW DENSITY (15,000 SQUARE FEET) SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONE throughout said chapter and on the official zoning map. Section 8. Section 18.36.030 entitled Conditional Uses, is hereby amended to add a new conditional use: F. Public parks and playgrounds. Section 9. Chapter 18.44 entitled Central Business District, Section 18.44.020, entitled Permited Uses, is hereby amended to change the term for the permitted use H. Community or public park and recreational facilities to: H. Public parks and playgrounds. Section 10. Chapter 18.48 entitled Madison Avenue District, Section 18.48.020 entitled Permitted Uses, is hereby amended to change the wording for the permitted use H. Community or public park and recreational facilities to: H. Public parks and playgrounds. Section 11. Chapter 18.52 entitled North City Center District, Section 18.52.020 entitled Permitted Uses, is hereby amended to change the wording for the permitted use H. Community or public park and recreational facilities to: H. Public parks and playgrounds. Section 12. Chapter 18.60 entitled Upper Ericksen District, Section 18.60.020 entitled Permitted Uses, is hereby amended to change the wording for the permitted use H. Community or public park and recreational facilities to: H. Public parks and playgrounds. -2- Section 13. Chapter 18.68 entitled Upper Ericksen District, Section 18.60.020 entitled Permitted Uses, is hereby amended to change the wording for the permitted use H. Community or public park and recreational facilities to: H. Public parks and playgrounds. Section 14. Chapter 18.71, entitled Lower Madison Waterfront District, Section 18.71.020 entitled Permitted Uses, is hereby amended to change the wording for the permitted use H. Community or public parks and recreational facilities to: H. Public parks and playgrounds. Section 15. Chapter 18.76 entitled Gateway District, Section 18.76.020 entitled Permitted Uses, is amended to change the wording for the permitted use G. Community or public parks and recreational facilities to: G. Public parks and playgrounds. Section 16. Chapter 18.80 entitled Industrial Zone, Section 18.80.020 entitled Permitted Uses, is hereby amended to change the wording for permitted use D. Community or public park and recreational facilities to: D. Public parks and playgrounds. Section 17. Severability. If any provision hereof is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall be in full force and effect. Section 18. This ordinance or a summary of the title shall be published in the official newspaper of the City of Winslow, Washington, and shall take effect 5 days after publication and posting as required by law.
