ORDINANCE NO. 90-12
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON;
RELATING TO THE PLANNING AGENCY AND THE CHAIRPERSON
THEREOF; AND AMENDING SECTIONS 2.36.020 AND 2.36.040
OF THE WINSLOW MUNICIPAL CODE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section !. Section 2.36.020 of the Winslow Municipal
code is amended as follows:
2.36.020 Composition - Appointments - Terms -
Residency - Chairperson.
The Planning Agency shall consist of seven
members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the
City Council who shall serve without compensation for
four-year terms. All seven members of the Planning
Agency preferably shall be residents of the city;
two members may be non-residents of the city provided
they are residents of Bainbridge Island.
The Mayor shall appoint annually in January,
subject to confirmation by a majority of the members
of the City Council, one member of the Planning
Agency to serve as chairperson for a one-year term.
In making the appointment of the chairperson, the
Mayor shall take into consideration any
recommendations made by the Planning Agency members.
Section 2. Section 2.36.040 of the Winslow Municipal
Code is amended as follows:
2.36.040 Meetings.
The Planning Agency shall meet on the second and
fourth Thursday of each month at seven thirty P.M. in
the Winslow City Hall and may hold such special
meetings as the Planning Agency may determine. The
Planning Agency shall give public notice of its
meetings as provided by law. All meetings of the
Planning Agency shall be open to the public. In the
event a regular meeting falls upon a legal holiday,
the meeting shall be held on the next following
business day. The chairperson of the Planning
Agency shall preside at all meetings, which shall
be conducted according to Roberts Rules of Order.
The chairperson shall be entitled to vote on a
matter when it is necessary to break a tie or to
make a quorum.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force five days from and after its passage, approval,
publication and posting as required by law.
