~elating~c~-~rhe annexation of the City of Winslow
into Kitsap County Fire Protection District
No. 2, and amending Section 1 of Ordinance
No. 90-8.
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 90-8, adopted on March 14, 1990,
the City Council initiated the annexation of the City of
Winslow into Kitsap County Fire Protection District No. 2 by
declaring its intent to join the District upon approval of the
annexation of the unincorporated territory of Bainbridge Island
to the City of Winslow; and
WHEREAS, Kitsap County Fire Protection District No. 2 has
by resolution concurred in the annexation of the City of
Winslow into the District; and
WHEREAS, the Kitsap County Boundary Review Board has
approved the annexation of the City of Winslow into Kitsap
County Fire Protection District No. 2; and
WHEREAS, the question of whether the unincorporated
territory of Bainbridge Island should be annexed to the City of
Winslow was submitted to the voters of that unincorporated
territory at a special election held on November 6, 1990; and
WHEREAS, according to the unofficial results of the special
election, the annexation of the unincorporated territory of
Bainbridge Island to the City of Winslow was approved by a
majority of the votes cast on the proposition at the special
election; and
WHEREAS, the City

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 90-8
read as follows:

Pursuant to RCW 52.04.061, the City Council of the
City of Winslow declares its intent to annex to and
join Kitsap County Fire Protection District No. 2.

Section 2. The City Council finds that the public interest
will be benefited by the annexation of the City of Winslow into
Kitsap County Fire Protection District No. 2.
Section 3. The City Council requests the Kitsap County
Board of Commissioners to call a special election on
February 5, 1991, for the purpose of submitting to the
qualified electors within the boundaries of the City of Winslow
and within the boundaries of Kitsap County Fire Protection
District No. 2 the question of whether the City of Winslow
should be annexed into Kitsap County Fire Protection District
No. 2.
Section 4. The proposition to be submitted at the special
election shall be in the form of a ballot title as follows:

to and be a part of Kitsap County Fire Protection
District No. 27

Section 5. The City Clerk is authorized and directed to
file a certified copy of this ordinance with the Kitsap County
Board of Commissioners, the Kitsap County Auditor and the Board
of Commissioners of Kitsap County Fire Protection District
No. 2.
Section 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five days from and after its passage, approval,
publication and posting as required by law.
