ORD 91-46 MAYOR'S POWER OF APPOINTMENTORDINANCE NO. 91-46
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Winslow, Washington,
relating to the Mayor's powers of appointment and
amending Section 2.08.060 of the Winslow
Municipal Code.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the Mayor
should be allowed to appoint temporary advisory committees and
that such power of appointment is in the best interest of the
public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City
of Winslow; now, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2.08.060 of the Winslow Municipal Code
is amended as follows:
Power of appointment.
Subject to all applicable laws and regulations,
including those relating to civil service, the mayor
shall have the power to:
A. Appoint any qualified person to the offices
enumerated in Section 2.08.030 subject to confirmation
by a majority ((of the whole membership)) of the city
council;
B. Appoint any qualified person to any other
paid position created or authorized by action of the
city council. The mayor may delegate this authority
to department heads;
C. Appoint a municipal Judge pro tem to ((A
municipal judge pro tem shall be appointed for, and))
serve no longer than((,)) the temporary disability or
absence of the municipal judge in accordance with the
provisions of RCW 35A.20.100; and
D. Appoint advisory committees from time to time
to examine and make recommendations on issues of
concern to the city. Such advisory committees are to
be in existence no longer than ninety days.

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five days from and after its passage, approval,
publication and posting as required by law.
