ORD 91-14 LAND USEORDINANCE NO. 91- 14
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Winslow, Washington,
relating to land use; repealing Ordinance
No. 91-07 relating to environmentally sensitive
areas and repealing Ordinance No. 91-08 relating
to clearing and grading.
WHEREAS, the City is concerned about the impacts of
clearing and grading and other development activities on the
land and sensitive areas of the City; and
WHEREAS, on February 7, 1991, the City Council passed
Ordinance No. 91-07 relating to environmentally sensitive areas
and Ordinance No. 91-08 relating to clearing and grading in
order to protect the quality of life in the City and meet the
requirements of the Growth Management Act of 1990 (Chapter
36.70A RCW); and
WHEREAS, those ordinances were passed prior to annexation
of all the territory of Bainbridge Island to the City of
Winslow on February 28, 1991; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it would be
in the best interests of all citizens of the City to hold
additional public hearings and take comment on the subjects of
clearing and grading and protection of environmentally
sensitive areas before implementing ordinances regarding those
subjects; now, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 91-07, relating to
environmentally sensitive areas, is hereby repealed.
Section 2. Ordinance No. 91-08, relating to clearing and
grading, is hereby repealed.
Section 3. The Planning Agency and the Land
are requested to prepare new ordinances relating
and grading and environmentally sensitive areas
