ORD 93-24 SALARY OF MAYORORDINANCE No. 93 — 24
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON INCREASING THE SALARY OF THE MAYOR.
WHEREAS, by Ordinances No. 71-13,79-44 and 91-03, the City Council
established and periodically adjusted the salaries for the Mayor; and
WHEREAS, the responsibilities and duties of the Mayor have become
increasingly demanding and time consuming; and
WHEREAS, increasing the salary for the Mayor will more appropriately
recognize the time and and effort contributed by the Mayor in the performance
of his duties and responsibilities; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. As of January 1, 1994, the salary for the Mayor shall be
fixed at two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00) per month.
SECTION 2. All increases in the salary of the Mayor that were authorized
previously by the City Council are hereby satisfied and confirmed.
SECTION 3. The Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5) days
from and after its passage, approval, publication and posting as required by law.
SECTION 4. The increase in salary authorized by this Ordinance shall not be
applicable during the present term of the Mayor.
PASSED by the City Council this 15th day of July, 1993.
