ORDINANCE 94 - 30
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND AMENDING
THE 1994 BUDGET OF THE CITY (ORDINANCE 93-49) AND PRO—
VIDING FOR USES NOT FORESEEN AT THE TIME THE 1994 BUDGET
WAS ADOPTED.
WHEREAS, on December 16, 1993, the City Council adopted the budget for 1994
by Ordinance 93-49; and
WHEREAS, a number of situations have occurred during 1994 which required
the City to expend money on items, projects and categories not included in the
1994 Budget; and
WHEREAS, in response to those situations, the City Council has expressed
its desire by motion to authorize the expenditure of City funds for those items,
projects and categories; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance 93-49 and the 1994 budget are each amended as
shown on the attached Exhibit A.
SECTION 2. The City's Finance Director is authorized and directed by this
ordinance to make the necessary changes to the 1994 Budget. The Finance Director
is further directed to make sufficient interfund equity transfers from the Current
Expense Fund to cover the added amounts authorized by this ordinance except in the
cases of the Lower Madison Engineering Contract (in which case interfund transfers
from the Steels and Utility funds are to be made) and of the utility—related funds
(funds 401, 402, 403, and 404), in which case any needed transfers are to be made
from within the four utility funds specified. In addition, all previously—authorized
interfund loans are to be repaid, provided sufficient funds are on hand.
SECTION 3. Interim financing for local improvement district projects is
approved from the same funds as mentioned in Section 2 at an interest rate of 5.50 %
per annum.
SECTION 4. Any acts made consistent with the authority of and prior to
the effective date of this ordinance are ratified and confirmed.
SECTION 5. A copy of this ordinance shall be transmitted to the Division of
Municipal Corporations in the Office of the Washington State Auditor and to the
Association of Washington Cities.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days from
and after its passage, approval, publication and posting as required by law.
