ORD 95-28 WATER RATES FOR ROCKAWAY BEACHORDINANCE No. 95 - 28
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington,
establishing water rates for Rockaway Beach water users;
amending Section E.5 of Ordinance 82-20; and amending
a portion of Section 2 of Ordinance 95-01.
WHEREAS, in Ordinace 82-20, as amended by Ordinance 95-01, the
City established a structure for water and sewer rates, charges and fees; and
WHEREAS, the City recently constructed water system improvements in order
to provide water service to the Rockaway Beach area; and
WHEREAS, after considering the cost of providing water service to Rockaway
Beach area water users, including the cost of maintenance, operation, repair and
replacement of the water system serving Rockaway Beach area, the City Council has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City to establish the water rates set
forth in this ordinance for providing water service to Rockaway Beach water users,
now; therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. Section E.5.b of Ordinance 82-20, and that portion of Section 2 of
Ordinance 95-01 amending Section E.5.b of Ordinance 82-20, are amended to
read as follows:
WATER RATES
The monthly rate for all categories of users shall be as follows,
except for the water users in the Rockaway Beach area, and except
as authorized in paragraph 5.f below:
Base Rate:
$12.38 per month per unit PLUS
Users of 0 to 500 cubic feet .83
Users of 501 to 1000 cu ft .93
Users of 1001 to 1500 cu ft 1.03
Users of 1501 to 2000 cu ft 1.14
Users of 2001 to 5000 cu ft 1.24
Users of 5001 to 7500 cu ft 1.39
Users of 7501 to 10000 cuft 1.55
Users of over 10000 cubic feet 1.65

The monthly water rates for water users in the Rockway Beach area
shall be the charge for other users set forth above, multiplied by an
adjustment factor of 1
SECTION 2. The City shall review and recalculate the adjustment factor for deter-
mining the water rate for Rockaway Beach water users on a yearly basis in conjunction
with the annual budget review, beginning with the review for the 1997 budget.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days after its
passage, approval, publiscation and posting as required by law.
