ORD 95-56 AMENDING 1995 BUDGET ORDINANCE 95 - 56
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND AMENDING
THE 1995 BUDGET OF THE CITY (ORDINANCE 94-27) AND PRO-
VIDING FOR USES NOT FORESEEN AT THE TIME THE 1995 BUDGET
WAS ADOPTED.
WHEREAS, on December 15, 1994, the City Council adopted the budget for 1995
by Ordinance 94-27; and ·
WHEREAS, on July 6, 1995, the City Council amended the budget for 1995 by Ordinance
95-29, and again on September 21, 1995 by Ordinance 95-37; and
WHEREAS, additional situations have occurred during 1995 subsequent to the passage
of Ordinance 95-29 which required the City to expend money on items, projects and
categories not included in the 1995 Budget, aS amended; and
WHEREAS, in response to those situations, the City Council and/or a committee of the
City Council has expressed its desire by motion to authorize the expenditure of City funds
for those items, projects and categories; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 94-27, No. 95-29, No. 95-37 and the 1995 budget
are each amended as shown on the attached Exhibit A and its further attachment.
SECTION 2. The City's Finance Director is authorized and directed by this
ordinance to make the necessary changes to the 1995 Budget. The Finance Director
is further directed to make sufficient interfund equity transfers from the Current
Expense Fund to cover the added amounts authorized by this ordinance.
SECTION 3. The Finance Director shall have the discretion to post expendi-'
tures budgeted in the streets fund instead to the Real Estate Excise Tax Fund No. 103
and/or the Equipment Acquisition Fund No. 105 provided money is available in Funds
103 and 105 and further provided that the expenditures changed against those funds
meet the legal tests for all expenditures charged to these restricted funds.
SECTION 4. Any acts made consistent with the authority of and prior to
the effective date of this ordinance are ratified and confirmed.
SECTION 5. A copy of this ordinance shall be transmitted to the Division of
Municipal Corporations in the Office of the Washington State Auditor and to the
Association of Washington Cities.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days from
and after its passage, approval, publication and posting as required by law.
