ORDINANCE NO. 2025-03
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington, amending Section 15.08.115.D on Exhibit A of Ordinance No. 2024-27 to correct an error and to provide
that sandwich board signs shall be a minimum of 30 inches in height.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2024-27 repeals and replaces Chapter 15.08 of the Bainbridge Island Municipal Code relating to signs effective April 9, 2025; and
WHEREAS, an inadvertent error was made in the drafting of Ordinance No. 2024-27
that changes the minimum height of a sandwich board sign from 30 inches to 36 inches; and
WHEREAS, it was not the intent of the City Administration or City Council to change
the minimum height standard, and the City Manager has recommended, and the City Council
concurs, that Section 15.08.115.D on Exhibit A of Ordinance No. 2024-27 should be amended to correct the inadvertent error.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 15.08.115.D on Exhibit A of Ordinance No. 2024-27 is hereby amended to read as follows:
D.Sandwich board signs shall be a minimum of 3630” in height and a maximum of
48” in height. Each sign face shall not exceed six square feet in area.
Section 2. In amending Section 15.08.115.A on Exhibit A of Ordinance No. 2024-27, it
is the intent of the City Council that the language of the amendment adopted by this Ordinance
be included in the amendments to Chapter 15.08 made by Ordinance No. 2024-27 when the same
become effective on April 9, 2025.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5) days from its passage
and publication as required by law.
