92-44 SETTING FEE AMOUNT FOR RECORDING AND RELEASE OF LIENSRESOLUTION No. 92 - 44 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND SETTING FEE AMOUNT FOR THE RECORDING AND RELEASE OF LIENS. WHEREAS, Washington State law requires that liens be filed with the county auditor in order to enforce collection of far delinquent utility bills, but also provides for the recovery of costs, charges, attorneys fees and penalties when a utility lien is foreclosed upon; and WHEREAS, unlike many other cities where the city is relatively close the the county seat, the City of Bainbridge Island incurs considerable labor and travel cost to file or remove a lien; and WHEREAS, the City Council has before it Ordinance 92-26 which, if passed, would specify that a fee be charged for the filing of a lien and that a fee be charged for the removal of a lien; now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS : Section 1. The fee for the filing of a lien with the Kitsap County Auditor shall be $100.00o Section 2. The fee for the removal of a lien filed with the Kitsap County Auditor shall be $100.00. Ralph W.
