92-23 OFFSETTING EXPENSE OF MUNICIPAL COURT FOR MONITORING OF SENTENCE COMPLIANCERESOLUTION NO. 92-23
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON, ESTABLISHING A PROCEDURE FOR OFFSETTING
THE EXPENSE INCURRED BY THE BAINBRIDGE ISLAND
MUNICIPAL COURT FOR THE MONITORING OF SENTENCE
COMPLIANCE.
WHEREAS, the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington,
has appointed a Probation Officer to monitor the Municipal
Court sentence compliance requirements; and
WHEREAS, the monitoring for such compliance requires
an increasing amount of time and expense be spent on each
defendant; and
WHEREAS, because of the increasing number of persons
on probation, the City of Bainbridge Island finds that it
would be to the benefit of both the city and the citizens of
Bainbridge Island to establish a fee for the direct purpose
of monitoring such individuals; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Bainbridge Island Municipal Court
shall impose a fee for each individual sentences for the
supervised monitoring of compliance by a probation officer.
The amount of this fee shall be established by the Judge of
the Municipal Court in accordance with Washington State law
as stated in RCW 10.64.120, as hereafter amended.
SECTION 2. The fees collected for the purpose of
monitoring by a probation officer shall be deposited into the
Current Expense Fund of the City of Bainbridge Island and
retained by the City.
