RES 93-47 SETTING THE AMOUNT OF PUBLIC ART FUNDING FOR 1989-1993RESOLUTION NO. 93-47
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON, SETTING THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF PUBLIC ART
FUNDING FOR THE PERIOD 1989 through 1993.
WHEREAS, the City has determined by Ordinances 89-02 and 92-30 that it is
appropriate for the City to include works of art in the City's public works and to provide to the
funding of such works of art; and
WHEREAS, those ordinances provided that one percent of all funds expended for
certain public works projects would be set aside to fund public art works, requiring that since
1989 the amount $9,549 be contributed and that an additional $72,680 could be designated for
public art works --against which amounts, a total of $13,576 has actually been provided; and
WHEREAS, the structure by which public art works were funded was amended
by Ordinance 93-35; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The total amount of funding for public art works to be provided
for the period 1989 through 1993 inclusive shall be the amount provided as though Ordinance
93-35 had been in effect throughout that entire period. This amount has been determined by the
City's Finance Director to be $39,377, against which amount $13,576 has already been
provided.
SECTION 2. The City's Finance Director is directed by this resolution to place
the unpaid balance of $25,701 now due into the City's public art works account from otherwise
unappropriated funds in the Current Expense Fund.
