RES 96-35 PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING APPEAL OF HEX RECOMMENDATIONS BY ROBERT STEINERRESOLUTION NO. 96-35 A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington, scheduling a public hearing to receive comments regarding the Appeal of Hearing Examiner's Recommendations filed July 29, 1996, with the City Clerk by Robert A. Steiner. WHEREAS, an application was made on April 13, 1995, to convert an existing single family residence into a school for kindergarten through 8th grade for up to 40 students and 4 staff members; and WHEREAS, the Hearing Examiner conducted a public hearing to receive comment addressing the Carden School Conditional Use Permit on June 17, 1996; and WHEREAS, the Hearing Examiner issued her Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law and Order on July 19, 1996, in which she granted the Conditional Use Permit to allow conversion of a 1,500 square foot single-family resident to a private school; and WHEREAS, Robert A. Steiner filed an appeal of the Hearing Examiner's Order with the City Clerk on July 29, 1996; and WHEREAS, the City is required to conduct a public hearing to obtain comments regarding this appeal; now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON, RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. A Public Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, September 5, 1996, in the Bainbridge Commons multi-purpose room, 402 Bjune Drive SW, Bainbridge Island, Washington, at 7:00 PM to receive public comment regarding the appeal filed by Robert A. Steiner of the Hearing Examiner's Order granting a Conditional Use Permit to Elizabeth Scott Harvey to convert an existing residence into the private Carden Country School. Section 2. The City Clerk is authorized and directed to publish this notice of a scheduled Public Hearing and to mail notice of said hearing to those who made comment at the June 17, 1996, Public Hearing.
