RES 96-13 PUBLIC WORKS SURPLUS MATERIALS DISPOSALRESOLUTION NO. 96 - 13 A RESOLUTION of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington, declaring Public Works "spoils" materials surplus and authorizing disposal. WHEREAS, the Public Works Department, in its routine duties, accumulates "spoils" in the form of trees, wood -chips, soil, etc., and WHEREAS, the City is limited as to property upon which to store these "spoils", and WHEREAS, in many instances these materials have merchantable value, and WHEREAS, it is both costly and imprudent to dispose of these materials by hauling to a landfill site, and THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Council declares such "spoils" to be surplus to the City's needs. Section 2. The Public Works Department is authorized to make these materials available to other governmental agencies, at no cost to the City. Section 3. When such materials have accumulated to such an extent that they become merchantable, the Public Works Department is authorized to dispose of them through the advertise/bid process.
