RES 98-13 TEAM WINSLOW'S APPICATION FOR THE BAINBRIDGE ISLAND MAIN STREET PROGRAMRESOLUTION NO. 98-13
A RESOLUTION of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington,
expressing support for the application for certification made by Team
Winslow, for the Bainbridge Island Main Street Program.
WHEREAS, the City of Bainbridge Island Supports the preservation and
well-being of the City's downtown district known as "Historic Downtown
Winslow".; and
WHEREAS, the economic health and cultural vibrancy of downtown is
crucial to the overall well being of the City of Bainbridge Island; and
WHEREAS, Team Winslow has demonstrated its intention to act as a non-
profit agency operating under the guidelines of the National Main Street Center
four-point approach to downtown community development, and under the
guidelines of the State of Washington's Downtown Revitalization Program four-
point approach; and
WHEREAS, Team Winslow must apply to the state program by March 13,
1998, to qualify for the Main Street program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bainbridge Island has demonstrated its recognition
of the value of this program and the benefit to the City's goals as expressed in the
Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bainbridge Island intends to continue support,
through participation and financial contributions, of this project for the next three
years; and
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Mayor of the City of
Bainbridge Island is authorized to sign a Professional Services Agreement between
the City of Bainbridge Island and Team Winslow in the amount of $15,000 for the
1999 calendar year upon the approval and acceptance of certificate by the
Washington Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development.
