ORD 89-07 PARKING PROVISIONSPrepared On: February 22, 1989 To Be Considered: March 2, 1989 Ordinance No. 89-07 An Ordinance To Amend The Winslow Municipal Code Parking Provisions Revising Section 10.08,110 To Provide That Extensions Granted For Consecutive Parking Per].ods Occur Only Within City Parking Lots; To Add New Sub- Sections Which Prohibit The Movement Of A Vehicle Or Erasure Of Chalk Marks To Evade Prescribed Time Limits; And To Provide That The General Penalty Shall Apply To Such New Provisions. The Mayor and City Council of the City of Winslow, Washington do ordain as follows: Section 1. Section 10.08.110 of the Winslow Municipal Code is amended so as to delete the words "on city streets" and to add the words "in city parking lots", as well as new sub-sections, so that when amended, it shall read as follows: 10.08.110 Areas where signs posted. In areas for which a sign has been posted limiting the hours during which parking is permitted or limiting the duration of time during which cars may park, no vehicles shall be parked for a longer period than the stated duration; provided, however, that motorists wishing to park two or more consecutive twenty-four-hour periods in city parking lots near the Washington State Ferry Terminal may do so only after making prior arrangements with the city for payment of all applicable parking fees; and, provided further, that no vehicle may remain in the same numbered Space for more than three consecutive twenty- four-hour periods. Failure to comply with this regulation shall constitute "overtime parking". No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle within any such designated area for a longer period than is allowed by such posted limita- tion or duration. It is unlawful for any person to move a vehicle from one parking space to any other parking space for the pur- pose of evading time limitations on parking. The person shall have violated this section if he/she moves and reparks a vehicle on either side of a street within the same block and within one hour after the vehicle has been chalked. Chalk mark identification- In checking for overtime parking, police officer or designated traffic control officers are authorized to use chalk marks on the tires of parked vehicles or any other identifying mark that does not deface the vehicle and it is unlawful for any person to erase or obliterate such mark for the purpose of interfering with such checking for overtime parking. Section 2. This ordinance or its title shall be published in the official newspaper of the city and shall take effect and be in full force five (5) days after publication.
