at most a minimal adverse impact on wetland buffers associated with Forget Sound and no
adverse impacts nn the wetlands; and
~EitEAS, on June 19 19'7, the City CoullGil held a public hearing Crn the issue
of amending Chapter 16.20 13I1NIC, relating t4 environmentally sensitive areas, to allow Geyrtain
storm drainage nutfall facilities as a permitted use within wetland buffers associated with Forget
Sound; now, therefore

Section 1. Paragraph YI of Section 15.20.09f1 of the Bainbridge Island MttuiCipal C~odde
is amended as follows:
H. Permitted Uses in a B-rtfer due. The following activities having minimal
adverse impeu"ts on buffers and nv adverse impacts on. regulated wetlands andlor
streams shall be permitted in required buffers:
1. Low intensity, passive recreational activities such as pervious
trails, nonpermanent wildlife watching blinds, shnrt term scientific or
educational activities, and sports fishing;
2. l~avigation aids and boundary markers;
~ . Boat mooring buoys;
~. Site ix-vestigative work rreGessary for land use application submittal
such as surveys, soil logs, percolation tests, and other related activities.
In every case, impacts shall be minimized and disturbed areas shall be
immediately .restored;
5. Normal trlaintenanGe, reprdir, or tiperatinn of existing serviceable
structures, facilities, or imgrDVed areas not including the construction of
a maintenance road;
G. The construction of fences or other similar barrir~s necessary to
protect a regulated wetland ar stream; a~
7. Agricultural activities including farming, Iwrticulture, aquaculture,
or irrigation ranching or grazing of animals existing prior to Febrltary
