RES 2003-42 REMOVING HOURLY CHARGES FOR MOST LAND USE ACTIONSRESOLUTION No. 2003-42 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON, REMOVING HOURLY CHARGES FROM MOST LAND USE ACTIONS AND REPLACING THEM WITH FIXED AMOUNTS PAYABLE IN ADVANCE, AND AMENDING SECTIONS 8,9 AND 10 OF THE BAINBRIDGE ISLAND FEE SCHEDULE. WHEREAS, the City of Bainbridge Island has charged hourly charges for most land use approvals since November, 1999; and WHEREAS, the City of Bainbridge Island has found both collection and administration of after -the -fact hourly charges both difficult and laborious; and WHEREAS; the City Council has now determined that the imposition of fixed fees paid in advance will provide greater convenience to the land use applicants by allowing them to plan for a fixed permit fee, known in advance; and WHEREAS, the fees proposed in this resolution have been determined to recover between 50% and 60% of the cost of the permitting function; and, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 8 of the Bainbridge Island Fee Schedule is amended to read as follows: 8, EIRE AND FIRE INSPECTION FEES (Ordinance 98-10, Resolutions 97-12 and 2000-33) The charges in this section are in addition to any applicable charges in other sections.
