RES 2004-18 AGRICULTURAL RETAIL PLAN APPLICATION FEERESOLUTION NO. 2004-18
A RESOLUTION of the City Council of Bainbridge Island, Washington
establishing the fee for the review of an agricultural retail plan application.
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan Goal 3 calls for the support for the economic vitality of
agriculture and the 2000 Community Values Survey identifies the preservation of agricultural lands as the
second highest priority of island residents; and
WHEREAS, onsite retail is an essential part of the economic viability for island farmers; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bainbridge Island has passed Ordinance 2004-11 allowing for year
around agricultural retail in zones where agriculture is a permitted use; and
WHEREAS, agriculture is a preferred use in the zone where it is a permitted use; and
WHEREAS, the processing of agricultural retail plan applications are expected to be processed
quickly, using less staff time than other types of administrative review applications; and
WHEREAS, the Bainbridge Island Municipal Code 18.108.030.A states that fees for
administrative reviews shall be set by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Revised Code of Washington 18.02.020 allows for collection of the reasonable
fees to cover the costs to the City of Bainbridge Island for processing permit applications, inspecting and
reviewing plans, and preparing detailed statements required by SEPA; now, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON, DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 9, Building and Planning Fees, of the City Fee Schedule is amended to add the
following:
Administrative Processing Fees:
Agricultural Retail Plan
$180.00
Section 2. This resolution shall be effective on and after June 1, 2005.
