RESOLUTION NO. 73-10
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDING
ASSISTANCE FOR AN OUTDOOR RECREATION PROJECT TO
THE INTERAGENCY COMMITTEE FOR OUTDOOR RECREATION
AS PROVIDED BY THE MARINE RECREATION LAND ACT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Winslow has
approved a "Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan" for the
urban area which identifies a community park on Eagle Harbor
more commonly described as:
Lots 1 through 6, inclusive, and Lot 9,
Block 2; Lots 2 through 7, inclusive, Block
3; Lots 1 through 3, inclusive, the Easterly
14 feet, more or less of Lot 12, and ALL of
Lots 13 through 15, Block 4; Lots 6 through 14,
inclusive, Block 5; and Lot 1, Block 6; ALL in
Stafford's Addition to the City of Winslow,
according to plat recorded in Volume 8 of Plats,
pages 11, 12 and 13 in Kitsap County, Washington,
and all tidelands fronting Block 5 and Lot 1,
Block 6, Stafford's Addition to the City of
Winslow;
and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Marine Recreation
Land Act, state and federal funding assistance has been
authorized and made available to aid in financing the cost of
land for parks and the construction of outdoor recreational
facilities of local public bodies; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Winslow con-
siders it in the best public interest to acquire a community
park on Eagle Harbor, more particularly described above.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of
the City of Winslow, Washington,
1. That the mayor be authorized to make formal
application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation
for fund assistance.
2. That any fund assistance so received be used in
the acquisition of the above-described land.
3. That any property acquired with financial aid
through the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation be
placed in use as an outdoor recreation facility and be retained
in such use in perpetuity unless as otherwise provided and
agreed to by the City Council, the Interagency Committee for
Outdoor Recreation, and any affected federal'agency, and
4. That this resolution become part of a formal
application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation.
