RES 95-42 REDUCTION OF SPEED LIMIT ALONG TAYLOR AVERESOLUTION NO. 9542
A RESOLUTION of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington,
reducing the speed limit along Taylor Avenue from 35 mph
to 25 mph between Pine Way and Eagle Harbor Drive.
WHEREAS, the residents of Taylor Avenue have petitioned the City Council to
reduce the speed limit on Taylor Avenue from 35 mph to 25 mph, and
WHEREAS, portions of Taylor Avenue have poor visibility and restricted 90° turns,
and
WHEREAS, the properties near the north end of Taylor Avenue are heavily
vegetated near the road making access to Taylor Avenue dangerous, and
WHEREAS, there is little or no shoulder area for pedestrians to travel safely along
Taylor Avenue; now, therefore,
THE CITY COI3NCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBR1DGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The speed limit on Taylor Avenue shah be reduced from 35 mph to 25
mph between Pine Way and Eagle Harbor Drive.
Section 2. The Public Works Department is directed to post the appropriate signage
which indicates the speed limit has been reduced such as "Reduced Speed Ahead".
