RES 2007-15 DISPOSAL OF SURPLUS CITY PERSONAL PROPERTYRESOLUTION NO. 2007-15
A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Bainbridge Island,
Washington, relating to the City's sale and disposal of surplus City personal property.
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the citizens of Bainbridge Island to sell
property owned by the City which no longer has beneficial public use and is surplus to
the City's needs; and
WHEREAS, the Bainbridge Island Police Department seized a vehicle as a result
of the investigation and prosecution of certain drug-related crimes; and
WHEREAS, the seized vehicle identified and listed on Attachment 1 is not
suitable for the City's fleet and appear surplus to the City's needs; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. The vehicle listed and identified on Attachment 1 is not suitable for the City's
fleet and are surplus to the City's needs (the "Surplus Vehicle").
2. The Surplus Vehicle shall be sold/disposed of through one or more of the
following methods:
i. Trade-in credit for equipment acquisition;
ii. Through the State of Washington General Administration's surplus
property program located in Auburn, Washington;
iii. Through the Bainbridge Island Rotary Club's annual auction or other
auction company; or
iv. An inter -local sales agreement with a political subdivision of the State
of Washington.
3. All revenue generated by sale/disposal of the Surplus Vehicle shall be deposited
in the police investigative fund established by BIMC 3.10.020.
