RES 90-33 WINSLOW'S 100TH BIRTHDAYRESOLUTION NO. 90-33
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, V~SHINGTON, RECOGNIZING
THE 100TH BIRTHDAY OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW.
V~IHF;REA`S, the first Post Office was established in the cammiulity
then known as Madrone 100 years ago; and
WHEREAS, the name of the community was changed to Winslow, honoring
Winslow Hall; and
and
Wf-3EREAS, the community has flourished and flowered the past 100 years;
.WHEREAS, the pioneers and residents should be recognized for their
contributions to the community of Winslow; and
WHEREAS, business .owners have served on advisory committees and
given freely of their time to give Winslow a friendly, hometown atmosphere;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Winslow resolves
as follows:
1. To authorize a festival celebrating a Century on the Harbor
with a parade, ceremonies, historical tour of old buildings, display of
model ships, antiques and whatever else the organizing committee deems
appropriate to commemorate this special event. They shall establish a
budget not to exceed $2400.00 to accomplish this task.
