RES 90-45 SPECIAL ELECTION~l~J SEP 211990 ~1U®IT®R RESOLUTION NO. 90- T KITSAP COUNTY A RESOLUTION of the City of Winslow, Washington, confirming a request to the Kitsap County -Board of Commissioners to call a special election on November 6, 1990, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of the unincorporated territory of Bainbridge Island the question of whether or not the unincorporated territory of Bainbridge Island should be annexed to the City of Winslow; and amending Section 3 of Resolution No. 90-26. WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 90-18 adopted on March 14, 1990, and Resolution No. 90-26 adopted on June 21, 1990, the City Council requested the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners to call a special election on November 6, 1990, in conjunction with the state general election to be held on the same date, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of the unincorporated territory of Bainbridge Island the question of whether or not the unincorporated territory of Bainbridge Island should be annexed to the City of Winslow; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 90-26, the City Council reserved the right to withdraw the request for a special. election on or before September 20, 1990; and WHEREAS, a special election was held in the City of Winslow on September 18, 1990, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of the City of Winslow an advisory proposition on the question of whether or not the unincorporated territory of Bainbridge Island should be annexed to the City of Winslow; and WHEREAS, according to unofficial results of the special election held in the City of Winslow, 519 votes were cast in favor of annexation and 451 votes were cast against annexation; and WHEREAS, in view of the apparent approval of the annexation by the voters of the City of Winslow, the City Council desires to proceed with the proposed annexation by confirming its request to the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners in Resolution No. 90-26 to call a special election on the annexation question for November 6, 1990, - 1 - lr/0723R in conjunction with the state general election on the same date; now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council confirms its request to the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners, as set forth in Resolution No. 90-26, to call a special election on November 6, 1990, in conjunction with the state general election to be held on the same date, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of the unincorporated territory of Bainbridge Island the question of whether or not the unincorporated territory of Bainbridge Island should be annexed to the City of Winslow. Section 2. Section 3 of Resolution No. 90-26 is amended by inserting "90-17" in the blank for the ordinance number. Section 3.
