ORD 58-63 EMERGENCY AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURESORDINANCE NO. 63
An EMERGENCY ORDINANCE declaring an emergency and
authorizing expenditures to provide therefore.
WEEAS, the extensions and additions to the public water
and sewer systems authorized and completed during the year 1957 could
not be reasonably anticipated at the time of establishing the 1957
Budget, and
WEEAS, such construction and the financing thereof created
obligations and commitments of expenditures to cover interest charges,
warrant retirement and capital outlay for inventory material, and
WEEAS, the actual revenue for the year exceeded the
budgeted anticipated receipts commensurate to the extensions and
expenditures, and
WEEAS, such authorized extensions were considered to be
to the best interests, welfare and health of the citizens.
NOW, TEEFOE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Town
of Winslow, Washington:
THAT an emergency exists.
THAT payment of duly authorized and approved expenditures
not previously budgeted shall be made from the water and sewer funds.
THAT the sums of not to exceed $750-00 and $250.00 are
hereby authorized for expenditure from the water fund and sewer fund
respectively in excess of the duly established 1957 Budget for such
specified funds to meet the emergency herein declared.
PASSED by unanimous vote of the Town Council and approved
by its Mayor this 21st day of January, 1958-
