ORD 59-83 MUNICIPAL ELECTIONAN CRDINANCE pertainin~ te Municipal Electien.
BE IT C~DAINED by the Tewn Ceuncil ef the Tewn ef Winslew,
Washingten:
Sectien 1: That a Tewn election fer the Tewn ef Winslex
shall be held en the secend Tuesday ef March 1960.
Sectien 2a That said electien shall be epen te veters frem
eight e'cleck in the merning until eight e'cleck in the evening.
Sectien 3: Said electien shall be held at the Tewn Hall in
Winslew, Washington.
Sectien 4: The Beard ef Electien shall censist ef erie
inspecter and two judges and shall be appeinted by the Tewn Ceuncil
at its first regular meeting in February, 1960.
Sectien 5: All elective candidates for municipal effice fer
the Tewn ef Winslew, Washingten shall be first neminated by caucus as
hereinafter previded.
Sectien 6: A Caucus shall censist ef an erganized greup ef
~ualified electers ef the Tewn ef Winslew, Washingten, net less than
25 in n,~nber, espeusing a pelitical party er principle.
Sectien 7: Such pelitical party er principle as referred
te in Sectien 6 shall be expressed in net ever five werds in length.
Sectien 8: Netice ef the meeting ef any caucus at which
candidates ef any electien shall be chesen shall be given by the
presiding efficer ef such caucus te the Town Clerk, whe will publish
the same as by law previded, at least ten days prier te the date fixed
fer the holding of such caucus. Netice shall centain the time and
place designated by such presiding officer. The Caucuses previded
fer in this Ordinance must be held on er befere January 15, 1960.
Sectien 9, The names ef the candidates neminated at such
meeting of a caucus-; shall be duly certified by the presiding efficer
thereef te the Tewn Clerk within five days fellewing the helding ef
such caucus, and said certificate shall centain the name ef the
candidate, his residence address, his business, the effice fer which
he is neminated, and shall be signed by net less than 25 veters
residing in the Tewn ef Winslew. Ne persen shall participate in mere
than ene caucus~ er jein the nem~natien ef mere than ene persen fer
each effice te be filled.
Sectien 10: The names ef the candidates se certified~hall
be printed en the hallet under the names ef the pelitical party er
principle se nem~nating them.
Sectien 11: The laws ef +~e State ef Washingten shall
gevern in all cases wherein this Ordinance has net previded.
Sectien 12: This Ordinance shall beceme effective when it.~
shall have been passed by the Tewn Ceuncil and signed by the Mayer.
