ORD 99-42 PLANNING COMMISSIONS MEETINGSAN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON, relating to the PlannlnE Commission' s meetings
and written recommendations and repo~s, amending Chapter 2.36
of the Bainbridge Island Municipal Code.
WHEREAS, the City has established a Planning Commission pursuant to Chapter
35.A.63 RCW; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission serves u a non-partisan sounding board for new
ideas, promotes community interest in planning and furnishes leadenhip in citizen participation
pso~rams; and
WHEREAS, the City must set the schedule for the Planning Commission's regular
meetings; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to define the functions, duties, responsibilities and
Osganization of the Planning Commission 'and the Planning Commission procedures; now [

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN, as follows:
Section 1. Section 2.36.040 of the Balnbridge Island Municipal Code is amended as
~ilows:
2J&040 Meetings.
The planning commission shall meet on the second and fourth Thursday of each mrth at 7:30
7~00 p.m. and my hold such special meetings as the planning commission may determine
mcessary. The planning commission shall give public notice of its meetings as provided by law.
All meetings of the planning commission shall be open to the public. In the event a re~n~hr
atetins falls upon a legal holiday, the meetings shall be held on the next following business day.
The chairperson of the planning commission shall preside at all meetings, which shall be
0onduct~d according to Robert's Rules of Order. The chairperson shall be entitled to vote on a
matter when it is necesswj to break a tie or make a quorum.
Section 2. Section 2.36.060 of the Balnbridge Island Municipal Code is az nended u

All recommendations, reports or other official documents shall be slipted by the ch/.uan-ad
sSmed to ~ the notary. Minutes of each meetinS shall be prepared by the seretary and
sillproved and signed at the next stated meeting. The minutes do not need to reflect the actual
discussion but only the formal actions taken by the plannin~ commission.
Se~ion 3. Section 2.36.080 of the BainbridSe Island Municipal code is repealed.

Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect snd be in force five days from and after ks
