AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON RELATING TO THE CITY'S PETTY CASH
FUND AND AMENDING BIMC 3.10.020
WHEREAS, the City desires to improve intemal controls so that each person
Whose pdmary duties include the function of cashier shall have a separate change
fund; and
WHEREAS, the forthcoming move to a new city hall will signfficantly
change the number and location of employees required to serve as cashier and
to make change for customers as a part of their regular dutioes; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
IECTION I. Sealion 3.10.020 of the Bainbridge Island Municipal Code is amended
to mad as follows:
3,10,020 Umits,
The patty cash fund shall be established in the amount of $300.00 and
no reimbursement shall exceed $25.00. Personal cash advances shall not be
made from the petty cash fund. In addition, a change fund in the amount of
$100.00 shall be maintained fodhc benefit of thc: ,'nunidpal co~h-t. each person
who shall regularly serve as cashier ard be required to make
change and a separate such fund shall be maintained for those
persons serving as backup cashier.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days after its
I~essage, approval, publication as required by law.
