ORD 61-98 REGULATION OF TEMPORARY MERCHANTSGIDINA~E NO. ~ f tN ORDINANCE relatir~ to the licensing and regulation of temporary merchants, and merchants operating from mobile or temporary quarters in the Town of Winslow, Washington; providing penalties for violations thereof and repealing all ordinances in conflict herev~Lth. ~ IT ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Winslow, Wasl~ngton, as follows: Section 1: It shall be unlawful to engage in or carry on the business of a temporary merchant or a merchant operating from a mobile or temporary quarters on private property in the Town of Winslow without a valid license so to do, to be known as a "Temporary T. ierchants License". The fee for said temporary merchants license shall be $100.00 per calendar year or any portion thereof. herein The word "temporary~' as used/shall mean lasting for a time of less than five (~) consecutive working days. Section 2: It shall be unla~ul to engage in or carry on the business of a temporary merchant or a merchant operating from a mobile or temporary quarters on any public street or on any public propertyvdthin the Town of Winslow, Washington. Section 3: The application for the license hereinabove mentioned shall be made to the Town Council. No license shallbe issued until the ap~lication has been acted upon favorablyby the Town Council. Said a~plication shall be typev~itten; itzshall state the nature and character of the merchandising activities to be carried on; the true name and address of the owner of the operation; whether or not the applicant has ever been convicted of, or pleaded guilty to, any crimes in his life-time; and, if so, a full explanation thereof; and a statement by the applicant made under oath that all irfform- ation on his said application is true. The license fee herein mentioned shall be paid upon ma~dng said application, and shall be ref~mded if the application is denied. Section h: Any license groanted hereunder shall be personal to the licensee and is non-transferrable. Section ~: That any person violating the provisions of the ordinane~ shall upon conviction thereof be fined not more than $100.00, or imprisoned for not more than thirty (30) days, or bcth fined and imprisoned. Section 6: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Tovm Council and approved by its ~iayor this/~[day of ~ 1961. ATTEST:
