RES 53-03 JANNSEN DRILLING CLAIM
A RESOLLITION of the Town Council of the Town of Winslow, Washington,
providing for payment of the N. C. Jannsen Drilling 8s Manufacturing
Company claim on the basis of settlement offered by the firm of
Morrissey, Eagen 3c Hedrick, attorneys for the plaintiff in action
brought in gitsap County, to obtain payment of claim in the amount
of $16,712.3.
WHEREAS, the N. C. Jannsen Drilling 8o Manufacturing Company of
Seattle has instigated legal action ir. the Superior Court of gitsap County
to obtain payment from the Town of Winslow for services performed claimed
in the amount of $16, 712.34, and,
WHEyR.EAS, the firm- of Morrissey, ~;gen 8e Hedrick, Attorneys for the
plaintiff, have submitted offer of settlement to Edmund Stafford, employed
by the Town of Winslow to defend the abo4e action, and,
WHEREAS, the e~ttlement offer made by plaintiffs attorneys provides
for withdre.wal of the legal suit and acknowledgment of receipt in full for
all claims to date on payment of the sum of $9,000.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of
i~inslow, Washington, as follows:
That Edmund Stafford, acting as attorney for the Town of Winslow,
is hereby authorized to effect out of court settlement of the action brought
by the N, C. Jannsen Drilling & Manufacturing Company and scheduled for hear-
ing in the Superior Court of gitsap County on January 21, 1953•
That warrant in the sum of $9,000.00 be drawn as follows nMorrissey,
Eagen ~ Hedrick, Attorneys for bT. C. Ja.nnsen Drilling & Manufacturing Compa.nyn.
That said warrant be placed in the hands of Attorney Stafford with
instructions to effect the settlement, obtaining all necessary releases,
receipts and~or other instruments to properly and fully protect the Town of
Winslow in its desire to effect complete anal final disposition of all claims,
contracts, agreements or any other business relations between the Town and
the Id. C. Jannsen Drilling & Manufacturing Company.

ton and approved by its Mayor this 20th day of January, 1953•
