RES 53-08 SOCIAL SECURITY COVERAGE
fi RESOLUTION of the Town Council of the Town of Winslow,
Washington, providing for Federal Social Security coverage
for all eligible employees of the Town.
WAS, it is considered in the interests of the citizens
of the Town that the Council give consideration at this time to extend-
ing to its employees the benefits of some type of old age insurance
system, and
WF~R.~S, the coverage extended under the Federal Social
Security Act serves to fill the existing need on the most desirable
basis of cost, and
W~~?.EAS, through medium of contract between the Federal
Government aryl the State of Washington coverage under the Federal
Socia 1 Security Act is available to political subdivisions of the
State of Washington;
ROW, THEREP`OR~, BP: IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of. the
Town of Winslow, as follows:
That the Mayor execute as effective on February 1, 1953, that
certain Agreement provided by the Commissioner of the Frmploy-ment S®curijty
Department of the State of Washington for the purpose, of extending the
Federal Social Security Act to the Town and its employees.
That the withholding deductions•be made from the salaries
and wages due those employees eligible to participate under the agree-
went.
That pa3~ent of the Towns share be :Wade as and when due as
provided in. the Agreement and. that such payments on the part of the
Town shall be chargeable to Salary and Wages of each Fund as determined
by the work of the employee.
PASSED by the Council of the Town of Winslow, Washingtor_, and
approved by its lt"~ayor this 17th da~• of February, 1953.
