That the Mayor of the Town of Winslow be ami is hereby
anthorize~ to negotiate a contract for the ~n_rorcement of
ordinances of the Town of Winslow pert~n4ng to =~4~a3s sub-
stantia~ upon the tarms an~ conditions of the Agreement
~ttached hereto, which Agreement is incorporate~ herein an~ made a part
of this resolution by this reference thereto.

AGREEMENT
THIS. ~, made and entered into by and between
the Town of Winslow~ Washington, a municipal corporation, here-
inafter referzmd to as the "Town", and the Kitsap County Humane
Society, a nonprofit corporation .org~ 'v a ~ and existing under
and by virtue of the liww of the State of Washington, herein-
after referre~ to as the "Societyw,
For and in consideration of the mutual prcaises and
agreements hereinafter containe~, it is hereby aut~all~ agreed
by the parties hemto as follows~
1. THAT the Society shall provide impound servicel
and facilities for all m~4mal, for which impounding is author-
iaed or ordere~ by the Town of Winslow,.
2. THAT the Society shall faithf~ll~ enforce all
or&tnances of the Town and laws of the State of Washington
new in effect or that hereafter may be enacted relative to
the impoun~ of op~ -1 8, the care n-rid treatment of animals;
3- THAT the Society shall faithfully carry out an~
enforce all lawful orders of the Health Officer of the
ton-Kitsap County Health Department pertaining to ~-o~ an~
the quarantine of -.'r,'~ ,,,1 m.
4. THAT the Society agrees to commence its opera-
tion on the first ~ay of August, 1961. (Or Sept. l)
5- THAT the Society, during the term of this con-
~ract, shall function as a nonprofit society.
6. THAT the Society shall not, .during the life of
this agreement, train or boar~ ~4--18 for 'pay, nor shall it
engage in the business of se~__l~ on~rme, medicine, food or
supplies for s~-ole, nor in the business of furn~eh4~g vet-
erinary or grooming services for pay; providmi that noth~8
herein containrod ahall be construe~ to prevent the Society
from sellin~ tmpo~:/ded animalS, estrays or gift -~4w~18, nor
the selling of miequate leash equipment for dogs redeemed or
sold from the premises. The Society shall not permit any of
its employees to conduct any of such activities upon any prem-
ises' owne~ or controled by it.
7- THAT the Town agrees to pay to the Society for
the services performed by the Society all funds received fro=
the impoun&ing of animals and sale of animals.
8. THAT the Town further agrees to pay, as its
Imoportionate share of the county-~i~e animal control program,
the following s~as:

the sun of $57.75, which represents the Town's shae of the
initial outlay and the first month's operating expenses.
(b). On the first day of September, 1961 (or Oct. 1),
and on the first day of each succeeding month during the calen-
dar year 1961, the sum of $24.75-

July 15, 1961 (or August 15), an~ shall be in force and effect
until Deccabet 31, 1961, and may be extended from year to year
by mutual agreement of the parties, confirmed on the part of
the Town by resolution of the Town Council.

agreement to be exacuted by their proper officers on this
