AN GRDINANCE pertaining tc Nunicipal Election.
E IT ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Winslow,
Washington:
Section 1: That a Town election for the Town of Winslow
shall be held on the second Tuesday of March 1962.
Section 2: That said election shall be open to voters from
eight o' clock in the morning until eight o'clock in the evening.
Section 3: Said election shall be held at the Town Hall in
Winslow, Washington.
Section 4: The Board of Election shall consist of one
inspecter and two judges and shall be appointed by the To~n Council
at its first regular meeting in February, 1962.
Section 5: All elective candidates for municipal office for
the Town of Winslow, Washington shall be first nominated by caucus
hereinafter provided.
Section 6: A Caucus shall consist of an organized group of
qualified electors of the Town of Winslow, Washington, not less than
25 in number, espousing a political party or principle.
Section 7: Such political party or principle as referred
to in Section 6 shall be e~pressed in not over five words in length.
Section 8: Notice of the meeting of any caucus at which
candidates of any election shall be chosen shall be given by the
presiding officer of such caucus ~ the Town Clerk, who will publish
the same as by law provided, at least ten days prior to the date fixed
for the holding of such caucus. Notice shall contain the time and
place designated by such presiding officer. The Caucuses provided
for in this Ordinance must be held on or before January 15, 1962.

Section 9: The names of the candidates nominated at such
meeting of a caucus for each numbered position shall be duly certified
by the presiding officer thereof to the Town Clerk within five days
following the holding of such caucus, and said certificate shah contain
the name of the candidate, his residence address, his business, the
office for which he is nominated, and shall be signed by not less than
25 voters residing in the Town of Winslew. No person shall participate
in more than one caucus or join the nomination of more than one person for
each office to be filled.
Section 10: The names of the candidates so certified for each
numbered position shall be printed on the ballot under the names of the
political party or principle so nominating them.
Section 11: The laws of the State of Washington shall
govern in all cases wherein this Ordinance has not provided.
Section 12: This Ordinance shall become effective when it
shall have been passed by the Town Council and signed by the Mayor.
