A RESOLUTION TO INDICATE THE BUILDING PERMI'L' SYSTEM
ADOPTED AND THE REVIEW PROCEDURE FOR THAT SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the City of Winslow has adopted and is enforcing
Ordinance ~~66 and Ordinance ~~69-]_6, and
WHEREAS, Chapter 3, Section 30, 1.973 edition of the
tlniform Building Code of the aforesaid prohibits any person,
firm, or corporation from erecting, constructing, enlarging,
altering, repairing, improving, moving or demolishing any
building or structure without first obtaining a separate
building permit for each building or structure from the City,
and
tJHEREAS, the City Engineer must examine all plans and
specifications for the proposed construction when application
is made to him for a building permit.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE I'l' RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Winslow as follows:
1. That the City Engineer shall require the issuance of
'" a permit for any excavation, grading, fill, or construction in
the community; and
2. That the City Engineer shall require review of each
permit application to determine whether the proposed site and
improvements will be reasonably safe from mudslides. If a
proposed site and improvements are in a location that may have
mudslide hazards, further review must be made by persons
qualified in geology and soils engineering; and the proposed
new construction, substantial improvement, or grading must
(i) be adequately protected against mudslide damage and (ii)
not aggravate the existing hazard.
