G~DINANCE NO. 127
AN ORDINANCE relating to the parking of vehicles within
~he Town of WinS~w, and establishing parking 1~ ~it~ and no
parki~ areas, and declaring that an emergency exists due te
increased traffic and congestion in the Town of Winslow which
creates a hazard to p~operty and life, and that to reduce said
hazard, it is necessary to regulate the parking of vehicles
within the Town of Winslow.
BE IT C~DAI~ by the Town Council of the Town of Winslow,
Washington, as follows:
SECTION 1: Amendment to Or~14ranoe No. 7, passed the 21st day
of April 194~, and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent
with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of
inconsistency, as respects the regulation of parking only.
S~CTION 2: Parking on Winslow Way, from Madison Street to the
State Highway shall be permitted in designated parking areas only, said areas
to be designated by the Town Marshall and indicated by appropriate signs an~
or striping, and shall be l~m~ted to two hour parking during the hours of
6:00 AM and 6:00 PM on every day EXCEPT Sundays, New Year's Day, Washington's
Birthday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and
Christmas; and FURTHER EXCEPTING those two parking spaces in front of the
United States Post Office in which parking shall be l~imited to ten minutes
at all times.
SECTION 3: No parking at any time shall be permitted on the
following streets of the Town of Winslo~:
(a) Winslow Wa~ from the State Highway EA.~T to Eagle Street;
(b) Fernc]i.ff Way from the intersection of Fernc14ff Way and
Winslow Way NG~TH to the Town limits;

of Winslow shall be
6:00 PM on every day
Memorial Day, Fourth
4: Parking on all other public streets within the Town
limited to eight hours during the hours of 6:00 AM and
except Sundays, New Year' s Day, Washington'~ Birthday,
of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas.
SECTION 5: For purposes of this ordinance a vehicle shall be
deemed "parked" on a street if any part of said vehicle is on or over the
surfaced portion of the street.
~CTION 6: Every person in whose name a vehicle is registered
or licensed shall be responsible for all parking offense~ under this ordinance,
unless said vehicle was operated by another without the owner's express or
implied consent.
SECTION 7: Any person violating the provision~ of this: ora4~ance
or any portion hereof shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished as provided
in Ordinance No. 128, passed the 18th day of June 1963.
SECTION 8: If any part of this ordinance be held invalid or
unconstitutional, the remainder thereof shall not be affected thereby.
S~CTION 9: This ordinance is deemed necessary for the mediate
preservation of the public safety and health, and shall therefore take effect
immediately upon its passage and publication.
