A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON,
RECOGNIZING THE YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF
WINSLOW SERVED BY CHIEF DENNIS W. MARTIN, RETIRED,
AN~) OFFICIALLY DEDICATING CHIEF MARTIN'S "PARK BENCH".
WHEREAS, Chief Dennis W. Martin, retired, served as police
chief since May 15, 1977; and
WHEREAS, eleven years of service represents a significant
investment of time, energy and dedication in the life of an individual;
and
WHEREAS, as of March 1, 1989, Chief Martin has been placed on
retirement leave status by the Law Enforcement Officers and Fire
Fighters Board of Kitsap County; and
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Winslow
resolves as follows:
1. Chief Martin is hereby recognized for his eleven years of
dedicated service as Police Chief of the City of Winslow.
2. Chief Martin's contribution to the quality of life within
the City of Winslow through his efforts at crime prevention,
law enforcement, and the education of young people is hereby
recognized and applauded.
3. The park bench placed on the sunny side of City Hall is
hereby dedicated in his honor.
4. Chief Martin will always be welcome to occupy that park
bench.
