RES 89-28 WATER CONSERVATION POLICY WITHIN THE CITY OF WINSLOW WATER SYSTEMRESOLUTION NO. 89-28 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, P~SHINGTON, DECIARING A WATER CONSERVATION POLICY OF ALTERNATE ~i~i'E~/NG DAYS FOR CUSTOMERS OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW WATER SYSTEM. WHEREAS, the City of Winslow 1.5 million gallon water tank will not be ca¥~31eted for use during the s~'~er of 1989; and WHEREAS, this limitation on water storage may cause a lack of availability of water for fire flow during a hot, dry weather spell; and WHEREAS, the city wishes to prcmote water conservation for the health, welfare and safety of the citizens of the City of Winslow; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Winslow resolves as follows: Section 1. City water custc~ers, including those not in the city limits presently served by city water due to existing contracts, and requested to use city water for irrigation purposes according to the schedule below: A. CustGTers east of the Highway may use water for irrigation on odd numbered days. B. Custcmers west of the Highway may use water for irrigation on even numbered days. C. This schedule will be in effect through the end of October or until further notice. Section 2. Notification will be made through the Winslow Observor and other methods. Section 3. City water custcmers using water for irrigation on days other than those listed above will be contacted by city personnel and c~L~liance will be requested. Section 4. Water consumption and water tank levels will be monitored to determine if voluntary cc~pliance is adequate. Section 5. Customer c~liance will be monitored. Section 6. The City Council will re-evaluate this policy monthly during the dry season and my implement mandatory conservation if necessary. RESOLVED this 15th day of June , 1989. ~I~B.
