RESOLUTION No. 99-27
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON RELATING TO THE IMPOSITION OF VARIOUS
TAXES, FEES AND CHARGES ENACTED IN RESPONSE TO
INITIATIVE 695.
WHEREAS, passage of Initiative 695 is likely to put extreme pressure on the City's ability to
accomplish its mandated functions with the revenues allowed to it; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved various ordinances in response to Initiative 695 that
specify that the City Council will take various actions by resolution; now, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON,
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The taxpayer contribution referred to in the Amendment to Section
1.28.025E BIMC contained in Ordinance 99-47 shall not be less than thirty-three
(33) percent prior to 2002.
SECTION 2. The annual reductions in the business and occupation tax rate
referred to in Section 1 of Ordinance 99-48 shall be one-tenth of one percent in
each of the years 2000, 2001 and 2002.
SECTION 3. The amount of gross income subject to the City's business and
occupation tax referred to in Section 2 of Ordinance 99-49 shall be $250,000 in the
year beginning January 1, 2000, and shall not be less than $250,000 in either of the
years 2001 and 2002.
SECTION 4. The reductions in the storm and surface water management untility
charges referred to in Section 2 of Ordinance 99-50 shall be $3.93 in the year 2000,
and shall be $3.00 in 2001.
SECTION 5. This Resolution shall be in effect and in full force on and after November 1, 1999.
