ORD 68-12 EMERGENCY EXPENDITURESORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE of the Town of Winslow declaring
an emergency and authorizing the expenditure of
funds in relation thereto.
WHEREAS, the Town Council has adopted Ordinance No. 68.10,
calling for a special election to be held within the town on the
question of whether or not the town should issue bonds to construct
a new municipal building; and
WHEREAS, the town has the chance to secure potions on certain
real property which might be the site of the new municipal building,
but must decide whether to purchase such options now; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the election and incidentals to the
proposed project must be provided for; and
WHEREAS, such expenditures could not reasonably have been
anticipated at the time the 1968 budget was OreOa~ed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
Town of Winslow as follows:
Section 1. The Council hereby finds and declares that an
emergency exists which could not reasonabl~ have been foreseen at the
time of preparing the 1968 budget and it is required that certain expend
tures of money be made which are not provided for in the 1968 budget
for the purpose of Ourchasing options on real estate which ma~ be the si
of a new municipal building and for oa~ing for the cost of the special
election and other incidentals thereto and that the sum of $1,500
should be sufficient to cover the above costs.
Section 2. That there is hereby appropriated from the
current expense fund the sum of $1,500 for the uses and purposes above
mentioned.
Section 3. That the sum of $1,500 shall be reDald to the
current expense fund out of the construction fund which will be created
for the municipal building project, if such election is successful,

and if such election is not successful, out of any project con-
struction fund which may be created by the town for the purpose of
building a new municipal building, or if no such project construction
fund is created, out of funds to be budgeted in the 1969 budget.
