ORD 68-18 HIRING PART TIME PATROLMANORDINANCE NO. 68~18
AN ORDINANCE of the Town of Winslow declaring an
emergency, authorizing the hiring of an additional
part time patrolman and authorizing the expenditure
of funds to pay his salary.
WHEREAS, the Town Council did heretofore specify the number
of police officers for the Town and establish their salaries and
set these forth in the budget adopted for 1968; and
WHEREAS, since adoption of such budget it is considered
to be necessary and in the best interests of the citizens of
Winslow to increase the established'number of police officers;
and
WHEREAS, it is deemed that changing conditions make it
proper and necessary that the police force be immediately
augmented by the addition of a part time patrolman:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON, as follows:
Section l: The Council hereby finds and declares that
an emergency exists which could not reasonably have been
foreseen at the time of preparing the 1968 budget in that the
needs of the Town for an additional part time patrolman have
increased greatly during the year.
Section 2: That the 1968 budget be amended to provide
for a part time patrolman to be added to its police force,
and there is hereby appropriated from the current expense
fund the sum of $1500.00 to pay the salary of said employee
to the close of the year 1968.
Section 3: That except as hereinbefore provided the 1968
budget is not modified nor amended in any way and is re-adopted
in its original form.
PASSED by the Council of the Town of Winslow, Washington
and approved by its Mayor at a meeting of said Council held
